Lost power at 2pm on Monday. Came back on around 5:30pm yesterday. Not much damage around, a few trees here and there. One of them just happened to be a huge pine that took 4 poles with it. Looks like the transformer caught on fire as well. With limited other damage in the area WMECO and their subcontractors were on it pretty quick. They were actually working on it for most of the 27+ hours it was out.

Other than no power for 2 days it didn't amount to much on my side of Falmouth (the Sound side got hammered). I left my boat in and fished it this am, but the water was mud and fishing poor. Still an impressive surf rolling in at Quicks and Pasque. It was worth the gas just to watch it blowing up on the massive shore boulders of Pasque.

never even lost power at the house in East falmouth, just a bunch of small limbs down everywhere, and my direct tv wires got messed up a bit on the roof, but all in all, dodged a serious bullet.

Got the power back a little while ago. Saw just how bad it got in some places. We had loads of trees down ansome damage due to that. The coast took some hits but nor easters do us worse do to wind angle.Fell real bad for those that lost homes to fire. Ron

From some of the videos I've seen, it looks like there may be some beach driving on regular streets now. Amazing how much sand was moved and how far inland it was pushed.

It's a mess down here. No problem with my house, water was about 3 blocks away (see photo 1) 2-6' of water in houses. Boats are all over the place, some 1/2 to a mile away from there docks. Long Beach Island and Island Beach north to Point Pleasant is devastated. A few pic's from north of me in Brick Beach/Bay Head area. Was catching thurs. and fri. and now those beaches are gone and some have new inlets!!

Fine here in Westfield/western, ma area. Some lost power but like someone else mentioned earlier last years Halloween snowstorm was way worse and left us fearing the worst.

My heart goes out to those in the coastal areas that were hit hard

Lost a couple trees. Power was shut to repair downed poles& transformers. just got power back. Lucky. Daughter in Hoboken NJ was wading from apartment w/o waders. Luckily I have her car here. Suppose to bring it this weekend. NOT she moved upgrade to friends. No trains and subway for awhile. Can't get to Manhattan from Hoboken w/o them and no car. Another life altering curveball. She's learned alot since living there for grad school. P.S. She did deliver her first baby at the clinic she's interning. Just b/4 Sandy.

Call me lucky. Lost another tree. This time it was my favorite 50+ yr. old oak tree. I watched her go down during the storm and thankfully it fell away from the house. If it went the other direction it would have taken out our home.

We were spared the brunt here in PA. Power was out at my place for about 24 hours, my dads for about 72. Some sections of PA (Bucks) aren't supposed to get online for another few days.

A bunch of trees down, but flooding looks to be minimal from what I can tell. We dodged a bullet, to be sure. Good luck to everyone in the coastal towns..

No problems in Westerly other than minor tree damage an power outage. Wish I could say the same for the shoreline. It got absolutely hammered.

day 5 with no power but with such a devastation around us, no big deal
I don't see power coming back for a week or two for us
the beaches are a mess with at least 4 more inlets that i heard about..i went to visit a friend in a shelter today by my house and whatever feelings i had about lack of power or anything else are gone
so many people suffering...and there are at least a 100 cars in front of my house in line for gas

We have been on generator power since monday at 230pm. I still have three utility poles that are snapped (and 4 others on the street) and the lines are laying in my front yard and hang 4 feet high across the bottom end of my driveway. Most of my neighbors are now in hotels.

However, I cannot complain as I'm well prepared for this. My generator is purring like a kitten and everything but the clothes dryer is in use (and somehow this morning we now have cable and internet). We have a gas range, and gas hot water, and we heat primarily with wood. Everyone is safe and I have no broken windows or any holes in my roof.

My heart goes out to all of the people that were hit head on by this storm and are really suffering.

We made it through mostly unscathed, but I am a dozen miles from the coast. I have to venture into the political forum to check on PaulS. Parts of Fairfield got hammered.

We got lambasted and the power is still out. Everyone's fine except my mother in law who suffers with Alzheimers and we're fearing the whole power out, now water, etc. has pushed to the limit and we're now looking for permanent care in a good facility. Other than that trees down, portions of my roof and fence are nowhere to be seen. Governor Christie would have added our county to the disaster list had he seen our neighborhood. That same neighborhood pitched in together as we always do when things like this happen. I just came in to work for a bit to get warm and check email and am heading over to my mother in law's to bring her back to my house should we not find a place to take her. There are friggin sick ba$tards around looting and taking people's generators when it gets dark and whatever else they can. So much so I find it hard to go to sleep.
I just can't fathom the licking the NJ shore took.
Be safe all, I heard there's another storm brewing which could hit late next week.

We're O.K. no damage but power is out, has been since Monday night. On from a friends house now.

We were blessed with no damage to the house and back to power.
Many of my neighbors were not so lucky with trees falling on their
houses and power still out.
Like Jimbo and Sgt Striper said the damage from Hoboken down to
Cape May has areas that are completly devestated with compelete destruction
of the dunes, houses moved back 5 blocks and 2-3 ft of sand on the streets
and land back for what seems forever. Absolute catastrophe.
Years of rebuilding and it will never be the same.

Power restored yesterday, thankfully. Cold showers and 3 little munchkins in the house... well, it could be a whole, whole lot worse. Good luck to all still struggling through this mess. Let me know if I can do something for you and I'll do my best.

We made it through the storm. Our home got flooded but everyone is safe and that is what counts - everything else can be replaced.

Our hearts, thoughts and prayers go out to all that lost so much, and to the brave souls who risked their own lives to save others. Thank you for the line workers who just a few hours ago 'finally' brought power back into our home. Everyone stay safe out there.....

made it thru...the tree swaying monster winds....

had a cellar window get blown in... was about all...

This is how bad it is: NJ Star Ledger is reporting tonight that Residents of several town including: Seaside Heights, Seaside Park, island sections of Berkeley Township, South Seaside Park, Lavallette, Ortley Beach and Mantoloking, will not be allowed back for as long as 8 months because of severe damage to infrastructure. Any residents that refused to evacuate are now being forced out for their safety.

Chirstie had them turn off the gas just the other day. That was not a good sign. You would think they would have infrastructure fixed in less than 8 months though.

Going to be hard to get the gas lines and Electric repaired. The roads are torn up, there are new inlets, and only one way in now! Check the pic's in my post, that is just two of the areas.
