Epic, saw it in iMax, Michael Fassbender is phenomenal in it.
If you're a fan of the Alien franchise it's worth seeing. Answers a number of questions (which is both a good and bad thing, IMO). More of an action movie than Alien (thriller/horror) but I thought it was great.

SPOILER ALERT< IF YOU WANNA SEE THIS MOVIE W/O KNOWING ANYTHING AVERT YOUR EYES
Saw it. crazy special effects but my stupid ass needed it to be explained afterwards. Lots of underlying themes and messages. And I liked it more after i actually figured out what the hell was going on. Self sacrafice being the biggest theme, with the alien at the very beginning on earth sacraficing himself for human life, along with what the installation really was, why aliens kept visiting earth essentially becuase humans kept almost destroying themselves over generations, and that the last straw had been broken, and they were about to wipe humans out after all the recent atrocities in the last few hundred years they've witnessed. It was really interesting. and freakin gross. All I'll can say is, automated surgery machine...

"this machine is calibrated for male anatomy"
Although it was hinting at the "Alien" storyline, it differed in ways that kept it from being linked to that series of movies, and you were more focused on the current story and not on how it would lead into the movie Alien. It was a well made film with subtle subplots with the android (one link to the Alien series) and the "corporate involvement" (another).
All in all it was a good flick.
My brother had picked up the original Alien movies (Alien, Aliens, Alien 3 and Alien Resurrection) on Blueray at Bestbuy for $10 each, and they each came with a coupon for $10 to see Promethius.
Soooooo we got to see the movie for $0.50 and he got his dvds.

I thought it was ok. Although I saw it in 3D, the effects where good, I just think the plot is way too deep with many pieces left out, Wayland and his daughter, the higher mission of the android, etc..
Now if any woman could run around after abdominal surgery with staples, right.. I could find the whole thing a little bit more believable, if things where a little bit more laid out

Well he just wanted to find out what it was becuase he didnt know himself. He has no emotion, the whole thing is a science experiment to him and he was trying to figure our how lethal the compound was and what it did. Thats his program, solve problems and decipher things. he didnt care if it wiped out a few ppl on board becuase hes not organic and would survive. The whole initiative to try and impregnate the female was his own doing to unravel the truth..... i think, but obviously he didnt figure it out in time before getting ripped in half LOL There's actually a wiki page that explains the plot very well, worth readin through real quick

Finally saw this flick this past weekend.....wasn't too impressed. Thought the ending kinda sucked. Didn't fall in line with the 1st Alien movie since it was supposed to be a prequel.....

Given the diversity of the human species, there is no “normal” human genome sequence. We are all mutants.
