Don't overlook Red Cedar either Ross, there a place in Salem that has Red Cedar ballisters. It turns nicely and is readily available up in our neck of the woods.

That's just about all I use... i get mine from Moynahans in North Reading..I buy 4"X4"X12' lengths and cut them to size..
