wondering why plugs are painted black on top, purple on bottom.
shouldn't it be the other way around, so the plug stands out (if you're looking up at it ) from the night sky????
I was told that at night bass see only in black and white-so the purple would just be a shade of grey to them. Also if you notice, a bass has his/her eyes pretty much on the top of their head, because they sight their prey and attack from below
actually, regarding contrast, red becomes darker than black at night. doing a black/red combo will produce a nice contrast. try looking up at your plugs at night. you may be a little suprised at what you see.
