krispy, do you put any mono on the spool? if not, don't you get slippage since the braid doesn't sinch down on the spool? i put at least on full pass on the spool of mono. on my VS's, i fill just shy of the innermost holes in the spool. i never liked PP. every batch i have used has fallen victim to the "mysterious breakage syndrome".
