I used a 3mm full suit with a stormr top until mid December. Legs were obviously cold but it was still doable.

i like the thermo-prene's alot. i have a 5 mm full suit and a 5 mm farmer john.

i wear the farmer john with a 1.5 mm surfer style pullover (henderson hyperflex)or even a long sleeve under armour shirt when its hot out. very comfortable and easy to cool off by dunking. way more comfortable than a full suit.

if your south of the cape, i'd go 3 mm farmer john, if your north (much colder water once you round the cape) i'd go 5 mm.

right on.

I fish south of the cape. Cape,RI,CT,NY. Most of my trips involve
some hiking and the 5mm has baked me alive in transit. The
thermoprene version of the john seems to have a velcro closure at
the shoulder straps .....in place of a zipper. Seems like a cool
feature, as I would imagine with 3mm....it probably could be rolled
down to the waist pretty easily when in transit.

For whatever reason, I overheat a lot. And when I am hot, I get
angry. Trying not to be angry.

Has anyone any experience with the NRS farmers?

oh yeah...how well do the underarmour products stand up to the saltwater?

Very well IMHO and they help keeping a proper body temp. I hear you on the overheating. My last trip to MTK I hiked from the lighthouse lot in and fished the coves down to Warhols and hiked back out. I brought two liters of water and still had massive leg cramps. Best thing to cool down in a suit is swim
