Great idea for the tourney. As far as pictures go, they make those little plastic tripods that are 6" in length by 2" in diameter. Camera fits right on top of it with a snap in piece. The tripod easily stashes away in a plug bag tube.

Interesting, this is something I need to get. I'm always scrambling to find a good rock to put my camera on top of for all my self portraits.

Only time it sucks is if youre out a ways wetsuitting...

I've added a club affiliation feature now as well, now we can have a Team S-B and compete against other clubs.

The Saltwater Edge added a pile of stuff to the prize lists yesterday.
First and foremost, they are offering up a Shimano Tranx for the Cow Hunt grand prize in the Boat category!
Then they threw in gift certificates for...
All four placing teams in the Surfcaster's Classic
$100 for each member of the team that wins the weekend they are sponsoring! (8/1 - 8/4)
$50 for each youth category winner
For a full breakdown of the prizes so far, Click Here.

my skins aren't too cool anymore unfortunately, the fridge died and I had to toss a bunch of them.
I was looking for the comment about embedding the tourney tag in your photo's with your iphone, how is that even possible?

Interesting thought - you could probably find a watermark app. Not sure if Dave wants to do that though as he would need to make a watermark for different apps periodically and maybe only a handful using it.

I found this on the rules page
TOURNAMENT TAGS:
28. The weekly TOURNAMENT TAG will be uploaded to a secure location in the wee hours of each Thursday morning. TAGS must be included in the photo for each fish entered into the tournament. You may also download it onto your cell phone and show the TAG on your phone screen in the photo as well.
How about an example ahead of time of how to do this and an explanation with simple directions?
is that possible Dave?
thanks

I think he means use a camera(not your cell phone) to take a picture of the fish ,and include your phone in the picture with the tournament tag shown on the screen.

You could also print the tag ahead of time and show it in the picture. Which might be tough in a wetsuit... The only obvious solution is to get temporary tattoos made for each round and put it on your bicep... then flex for the photo!

As a thought, use video mode on your cell phone. Video the tag, pan over to the striper then pan to the mug and say cheese. Afterwards upload to a private youtube account.
Unfortunately this is not a rule.

*When will results from the weekend be posted?
*Are the results viewable by anyone or just those registered in the tourny?

Dave, maybe this was already asked, but is the cow hunt separate for shore and boat anglers? Or are they both, shore and boat, competing against one another.
Thanks for all your hard work on this.

Dave, due to some shoulder surgery I wont be able to fish until early July, but would like to fill in as an alternate if needed when I return. Do I need to register the same as someone fishing start to finish, or is there a different protcol? I know you are busy, so if anyone wants to chime in if they know, I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

Man, I have neglected this post!
OK. The only way to use your phone to store the tag is to save it, bring the TAG up on your screen and photograph it in the shot with your fish and tape. But you need a second camera or phone. No watermarks.
Videos are eligible for entry RSTICKET.
Printing the TAG is strongly encouraged, it's just better and shows up better in the photos. I would recommend printing 5-6 and storing your tag in a heavy-duty Ziploc or some leader wallets, like the ones made by MAK have a waterproof zipper on each page, just slide the TAG in there and it will be safe.
As for posting the results and who can see them. Entries will be posted as they come in and they will be public. Final results will be posted every Monday morning.
Massbassman - The signup deadline is July 31 for teams and Sept 12 for individuals so you can sign up anytime pretty much. As for fishing as an alternate--if a team needs an alternate and they select you, that's fine, no need to register, but you won't be eligible for any prizes if you don't.
