RI's not much different
Thats only 1 more fish than the Block Island charters take every day. 5 for the captain(comm. license) + 12(6 guys with 2 fish each) = 17

after seeing that pic.............
i did allot of research: all damn day long in fact. I read about fish mortality rates, egg size and the fecundity of bass based apon size ,the number of eggs produced by an (36 inch)8 year old female, the less fertile eggs of smaller bass......on an on until i came away with some basic concepts that would avoid the necessity of comparing all the charts, graphs and studies of disected bass heads with materials spun in a centrifuge ect ect. so that it could be passed from fisherman to fisherman on the whole atlantic seaboard by word of mouth. Also interesting was the fact that striped bass production in the south has become more profitable than hog rasing now... (bend over and squeal like a striper)
anyway , i still have some further editing to do.
i feel i should post it.....but sometimes the attitude is: shut up and fish....got any eels left....what are they hitting on? thats fine,
but sometimes science can be rewarding later on down the road.

Raven--I do a lot of bass biology, ecology, reading myself. I live by a marine science library, so if there's anything that you can't find--like in the fishery journals--let me know.
I'd love to read your final draft.

He doesn't like yanks, apparently.

Charter captains have made the effort to ask patrons to not take home more than one fish per or no more than they can probably eat. They fillet the fish for them and send them on there way.
Not everyone does it that way here but Capt's like Pete Kaizer, Tom M and a few others are quite aware of the impact they could have.
Now if they could only reduce the comm's bycatch issues.
Senator Kerry will be our friend here for sure !
Let's petition the hell out of him

Rick Caton is a loser.
Never had a conversation with a charter captain that starts with me asking "okay, got any available dates?" and with him ending the discussion with "stick it up your ass."
What a jerk.

I'm so steamed at the guy and his wife for jerking me around and dealing with me in bad faith. What a waste of time.
I asked him how much advance notice he needs for trips. All he tells me is he has no availability for this and that date. Okay, how 'bout telling me when you do have a good date (besides the end of the season when there are no bass around?)
I guess I should have taken the hint after I left the third voice mail with no return call.
If he didn't want my business he should have just told me so outright, I would have moved on without making a fuss.

The United States Constitution does not exist to grant you rights; those rights are inherent within you. Rather it exists to frame a limited government so that those natural rights can be exercised freely.
1984 was a warning, not a guidebook!
It's time more people spoke up with the truth. Every time we let a leftist lie go uncorrected, the commies get stronger.

Yeah, I checked his msg. board (even left a nice post) and saw some open dates and inquired. I think I might have gotten a booking - if I didn't mention I was from the New York area.

I'm pretty open minded person - would have been eager to drive the 10 hours down and the 10 hours back to fish with the guy. I like to fish with new charter captains, regardless of whether they keep their full limit or not. You might have noticed I refrained from bashing on the guy in last year's thread at the not-so-happy place - I guess he don't like yanks b/c of that thread. Still, to e-mail me back and tell me to "stick it up my ass" (after I said thanks for nuttin) is pretty unprofessional. Speaks volumes of his character, or lack thereof.

When I use to work on the offshore boats, we'd get guys coming up from Norfolk and Newport News, mostly scallopers--and man did I hear some funny stuff on the VHS and CB radios. Confederate flag flying in the rigging. Most of the dialogue between the boats was good ol fun bashing, the way it should be. THat guy FWW seems like a pesthole.
