You're reading way too much into it, or between the lines.

Again, note that I said something about blowing smoke into other people's face.

And I'm not getting worked up, BigFish. Just stating the facts.

Smoking wars, Part one

How I wish for the days of old, oh how I wish. Take me away to a time when men were men, and smoke was something done to more than just fish

I feel it is up to the smoker to move away if his smoke is in MY face and I was there first. But then again I think most smokers I would be near would be GOOD enough not to be so rude as to force thier smoke on someone else as some here would do so they say. Just saw a news flash about 40 miles of beaches in Calf. that are now smoke FREE. Watch out who you are blowing that smoke on or we could be next and that I would not want to see because unlike some smokers here I would not want to see them pushed off the beach even though they say they don't give a rats a## if there smoke bothers me.

THEY could ban smoking on every beach in america but i will still smoke there. i wont put it in your face but if i feel like smoking and you are 15' away from me im gonna. if you gonna cry about smoking outside then dont buy a damn thing from anyone who has a factory which expels there exhaust better yet dont drive your car cause the smell of burning gasoline makes me sick and i dont like Old Spice so if you use that dont stand next to me. and oh yeah im not too fond of DR. Scholes foot inserts, i can smell them a mile away so if ya got them on i would rather you find a new spot than this one which you may have traveled quite a while to get too. tough cookies to you non-smokers(chocolate chip cookies( let me guess you dont like the smell of cookies either)
get a life whiners and be glad you its not twenty tears ago cause you would be at in a bar /resturaunt and told to go to
hey do me a favor and call "HELP ME HANK"
you all know her she is the woman solving the worlds problems on ch. 7 helping people thru devasting times like this( somebodys cigar stinks) she is perfect for ya :

i got no beef with people who are smokers. where i cam from, i grew up with heavy smokers in my community. i got used to it. one thing i dont like is a stupid prick who blows his or her smoke at my face just to tee me off. it shows how cockey you are. i respect smoker. but if it is excessive, i fan it down a little with my hand to myself or move a few feet away. no biggie. i cant help or control smokers. they are smokers. if they are smoking cracks or weeds, then i will have to do something about it.

Gilligan, do you fish at night? How many spare tires do you carry?
F*** with the wrong guy on the wrong night, you may pay for that attitude. You sound like a Tough Guy, but you never know...you may find out the hard way that it's best to be considerate.

im considerate enough that i dont smoke in crowds or places where children are close by but on a beach in early spring with not many people around it shouldnt be a problem. by no means am i a tough guy i just think people could find better things to do than complain about anything they can think of. now that i think about it im complaining about people complaining so whatever. i go thru more tires than i can count driving over nails on jobsites so if that happens i probably wouldnt even think twice about it. i dont f*** with anyone who dont provoke it. i never have and i have no plans to in the near future but if someone says something i dont agree with im gonna speak my mind. kinda like you just did

One interesting point I read is the comment someone made about how smokers lose their sensitivity to the cigarette smell. I think that's true. I think the avergae smoker would be very surprised at what distance a non smoker can smell the smoke. I think realistically , 15 or 20 feet is a fair distance for a smoker to give someone for relief. There are days when the air is very still that even that you can smell it strongly But in general , if people leave about 20 feet , that's reasonable.

I also don't think that smokers understandf that cigarette smoke doesn't just smell. For me it makes my nose run , my sinuses swell up , and since my heart attack , I actually get a tight chest in a place with lots of smoke. I've had to stop going to many places I once enjoyed in favor of more smoke free places.

Anyway , the point is is not just sticking our noses into other peoples business or trying to take away anyones right to smoke. Cigarette smoke really bothers some people , far more than just the smell.

Until the week of July 26th-28th. Did you hear what they are doing durring the DNC around the Fleet center? They are going to allow smoking in all restauraunts and bars in the area, even though smoking has been banned in Boston for some time.

Unbelivable...
