Map
Hey likwid, you went way overboard with the map, way way overboard. Just joking. Your right though, buy the red book with all the streets in it and match up the streets to the waterways and you good to go.

I voted: "Would totally respect the spot and only go if invited! " but I would go on my own if I asked and was granted permission.
Having said that, I am sure my position would evolve after a year or two and you'd find me going on my own. But it would be on my own and not with a crowd.

I voted I would totaly respect the spot...but I was lying! Let's be realistic, unless you're fishing in someone's swimming pool there are no secret spots! Your secret spot is the same spot that another guy has been fishing for 30 yrs. Now burning a current "hot spot", especially on the net, or encroaching on someone while they are fishing a spot is a different story and a sure sign of an idiot!

To tell the truth I would ask when I went with them. I have more trouble finding parking spots near where I want to fish than fishing spots. I suspect that is even more so in RI than Maine.

I think once you show someone a spot , the best you can hope for is that he doesn't show others. You should expect he may start going there on his own. A lot of spot "swapping " goes on too. You tell someone a spot and they tell you one , etc. People have always done it.
You want to be careful about spilling the beans where the word will spread rapidly. tell a tackle shop guy and the whole shop of people will be there the next day. Tell it on the internet and you'll get people from the 3 states swooping in on you.
