I just brought my gear to the storage unit today. There were a few tears. But trout fishing is still very good! Right? At least there is a tug on the end of my line. Besides, it's almost April!!

I'm done with striper for the year.
I might try to get out to do some ice fishing over the winter.

canalman and I were talkin about it the other night as us and Redcrabber pulled our pork for a while.
We have never felt so defeated so early in the year.
The weather is so warm and fishable and dark, but the waters around us that are usually prime time right now still look like a large regular Dunks coffee. It has been brown for over 2 weeks now since that big storm. and the reports from further south (or west) are pretty dismal as well.
sad to say, but I think the fat lady has sang......
but then agian, I will let you know in a little while. I still got a dozen select eels that I have somehow managed not to kill, so I either gots to swim them, or free them (or decorate some cars)....
I'm off for some more punishment...Tonite is THE NITE. It has GOT to happen...or its "Plan B" sesaon fo me.......
ad to say it,

I've never given up this early, but those storms we had destroyed the water in my area. We had nice fish here right before the storm, but the water has been clean a total of 3 days out of 16 in Nov... I've caught 7 fish in Nov and my last was a Blue! it was 37" but now I have to go through the winter with my last surf fish a %$%$%$%$ing bluefish!

It isn't over up here and I think the Rhode Island boyz might have finny visitors soon as these aren't little holdover fish, for the first time this fall we have consistent bait, peanuts, tinker macks and 6 inch long silversides and the fish are barfing them up. Last night looking east in a southeast swell and alone my arm was sore and it's nice to be able to leave fish when they are still hitting cause you caught enough. There have been many years where bass are caught on the cape beaches while snowflakes flutter down around you. This is going to be one of those years. Hint: you need to get a one day permit now at the CCNS station to run the beach, if you had a permit there is no cost for it but you must sign in. Yesterday was the last legal day to run the beach with the red 2006 permit. ANd you will have to air up in town.

Why even try.........
