At least if the power goes out due to the wind we won't have to worry about ice.
Somehow every time one of these storms comes around I always ACTUALLY NEED TO BUY milk and bread. I always feel conspicuous checking out with it...

I will be at Il Capriccio down the street on Friday evening for early Valentines Day.
If I need to take the bus the 1/2 mile down the street with the Mrs., so be it.
I can pick the bus back up on the way back, and the packy is right next door.
I say big F_U to the snow. Takes a lot more than that to ruin a Bomba's fun.

Looks like I'm stuck in San Diego for a couple extra days. This is gonna be tough. Got a full day lmb charter set up for Friday and pending hotel availability this is gonna be the best time getting stuck I've ever had.

Ricky, get the soufle de porcini. It is a reason to go back besides the wine list.

I'd note that over the last 24 hours predictions are not getting better.

Are they expecting this to be windy too? I have a weekend planned with 2 nights of hotel reservations. As long as the power stays on we should still be able to go. I am going to try to get there around 1-1:30 pm on Friday… hope its drivable still at that point.

Nobody in Eastern MA should be driving anywhere after 5pm Friday.
Airlines are already moving equipment, I have people stuck all around the country
Eastern MA, all west of the Cape is looking at 3-4 inches of precip at 10-12 to 1 you get the drift

striperman, how are the models shaping up, is everything agreeing with the Euro at this point.
I want a healthy snow in falmouth, although I'll be sitting in the dark, with wet snow, powerlines, and 60 mph winds

You should all go to your local DPW and get a bucket of the sand/salt mix. Usually allowed one per residence, at least here. I just stocked the eight houses I will be clearing, plus one in the truck in case I get stuck.

I hope it rains. the weather folks are having wet dreams about this thing. One guy said one of the models predicts some towns could get 70+ inches. Personally I think that is irresponsible of them to report what these models say directly. All of these models make physical assumptions and you can tweak them to say just about anything...as my computational fluid dynamics professor said...assumptions are the mother of all phuckups.
Weather is now a full on reality show and the reporters showing cleavage get the highest ratings.
(BTW, that pic of Kate U is awesome! )
It will be 45 deg on Monday...

so 15 inches or 15 X 2.5 = 37.5
