Took me 16 years to figure out they have rooms with a dorm fridge!
John, can you make this sticky?
Thanks,

I think I'm Out
Just found out yesterday that I need another back operation. The fusion has only partially worked and my L5-S1 combo is unstable. They're putting in bolts and rods on each side of the spine to tie them together in case the fusion doesn't progress any further.
I don't know the date yet, but I'm guessing it should be the Tuesday before the TFCTFN (If I know my surgeon).
Taking Jack ice fishing tomorrow. Saw a guy chasing flags for 15 minutes yesterday across the street. I want to give it a shot before I'm back in bed again.
Sorry everybody. Sometimes I feel like this party is (at least partly) my responsibility, so I don't take missing it lightly.
Big frown face.

The United States Constitution does not exist to grant you rights; those rights are inherent within you. Rather it exists to frame a limited government so that those natural rights can be exercised freely.

I had an ALIF in the middle of July. It's only partly fused and one of my pedicle screws backed out like 1.5 cm. Luckily, it's the one under the part of the bone that's fused, so it won't go anywhere.
Next surgery is bolts and rods to stabilize the joint on the posterior side.
Hopefully, this makes it so the fusion sets easier, and if it doesn't, the joint maintains it's height due to the posterior hardware.

Been dealing with spodylolythisis most of my life. Basically a grade 2 now in the S1-L5. Stability is an issue, nerve impingement, all treatments have failed so a fusion with rods and screws is the final option. I was told 12 week recovery.
Rick, good luck with your back.

Sorry to hear Rickman - I have been in constant and occasionally intolerable pain for much of this year.
We should send the strippahs to your house??

12 weeks is what it would take to get back to an IT job like mine. I still can't lift up my 40 pound kid and I'm 6 months out.
Sounds like you're gonna get a PLIF if it's with the rods and screws, right? The PLIF is an even longer road, because they peel the erector spinae muscles off your spine and they need to grow back, too.
I took the ALIF approach because the fusion rate is better, I'm relatively young, and don't smoke.
I got Bell's Palsy three months in and was on Prednisone for a month. I wonder if it killed the bone grafts. Who knows.
Anyway, the new one should give me the stability I need without the fusion. Healing is quick, I hear, too.
Good luck too. Looking more and more like I will be at the TFCTFN, too. My doctor's assistant who schedules the surgeries won't be back till Monday, so I doubt they can get me in in two weeks.
John, no strippahs. I am old man, with simple tastes, who moves slow. I am easy prey for them.

Makai, it usually starts between 6 and 7PM. It's at the VFW hall in Fairhaven MA. I'm pretty sure it is at 109 Middle Street in Fairhaven

I verified my room at the hotel last night. I would say unless there is some sort of miracle from God (sorry guys, the sooner I get this pain out of my life the better), then I WILL be attending the TFCTFN.
I'm bringing either one or two guys to help me, so I should be in good shape in the kitchen.
See you guys then (I think).

Hi guys,
I am still hanging in there but not by much. trying to keep busy....
I stop by every now and then to see the site trying to pass time and keep my mind from wandering.
I am unfamiliar with TFCTFN 2016. What is it ? From what I read sounds like a fishing/gathering/party ?

Exactly what it is, without actually fishing.... Stands for Too F-ing Cold To Fish Night. Long drive for you. Don't know if any from up your way are coming that you could carpool with.... A number of guys get rooms at the Holiday Inn across the street (literally). One of the deepest raffle tables around, as many members donate. This is a major source of keeping the lights on here, and we like to get together and help out maintaining this community. If it works out, I would look forward to meeting you. Stay with us and stay well.

So it is basically "get to meet the guys" on this sight night, little food, little raffle, dancing from clammer and a guest speaker Mike Laptew .....
if start from 6ish to when ?
and is in Fairhaven Mass ? correct
cost of the party ? Is buying raffles the only way we donate to S-B
please let me know. A 3 1/2 hour ride is not a long trip for me as it's usually 4 to 4.5 to the Cape for fishing. I really would like to put faces on some names.
Any body know how much the rooms are ? availability ?
Now for a really really silly questions.... does Hotel allow dogs ? I have a beautiful Giant Schnauzer who likes to tag along and really well behaved (except for when he knocked that bicyclist off his bike) on the bike path at the canal. I'd leave him in the room for the party. I'm assuming not but doesn't hurt to ask. The dog doesn't have to be there but since it is so close to the Cape I would probably head out there next morning to get a few memories of our favorite launch sites.... and see how I handle the memories.....

Dogs are allowed just ask clammer.
Give Seaport Inn and Marina of Fairhaven, (formerly Holiday Inn Express) a call to get the pet policy, limited number of rooms available, need crate and $25 extra.
