Toe Toe fishing is boring. Whats so exciting about haveing to set the hook hard on a 6# rubba lip. Then it "dig's like a hoe"(innocently, thats what my son says...cracks me up)and then fights to the top on slow action rod. Even in the sink at home friggen thing is still trying to get away. 10#'ers ....boooooring!!

back home...got limit, things slowed a little again at lunchtime and we took off...but we had a few good flurries of action. The largest I got 9.75 (on the scale at the tackle shop) not a bad fish at all fought like a somebitch and took some real serious drag.

Might go again tomorrow...

not the best photo...sorry had my iphone with a 6X zoom to get him in the viewfinder

What was the forecast? I saw 10-15 from the west. Didn't seem bad to me. Did you see something different?

Was that you??? Sorry I had to split....had to be home by 1:00 today. I saw you swing by Niko's boat. Did it pick up after I left? Usually it is rippin after I leave a spot The tide was dying when I left.

I may get to sneak out for a couple hours early tomorrow morning but I will probably just make a fuel run to falmouth.

15 to 20 predicted on Sat. not ideal where were were but still do-able.

Awesome day ! Thanks Paul !
Niko was a tog catching machine & schooled me early on but I got the feel for it eventually ! (1st time ever for me)
Coming out of the harbor in the morning we saw the sword boat
"Eagle Eye 2" tied up on the docks, coming back in the harbor later in the day saw Capt. Scotty yacking on his cell from the stern of the boat.

Sandman, Love your boat ! Wanted Paul to run over for a closer view before we called it a day, but you left before us.

Anyone got any good recipes for tog and tog chowder ?

Pretty much a standard chowder recipe works like this:
Blackfish/tautog chowder - Spearboard Spearfishing Community

I'm always surprised the fish doesn't melt but it holds up well. Can't believe you've never been out toggin' :-)

Well I am glad you all caught fish!! I never tod fished except at Woods Hole years ago, so I got a big fat 0

Was a cold start and a bit of wind and clouds to begin but what a great day it turned out to be!!!
I was down at Wings Neck, Cleveland Ledge, and up Marion area and not even a bump. But boat ran great and had a great time with my son and friend Kenny!!
