I am a Yankee fan and that probably comes as no surprise) and I happen to a lot of respect for the Sox and what they have (and haven't) done over the years.
I mean, in 1978 when the Yanks closed in on them, the Sox did an amazing thing and won the last 8 games they played (remember they went to 3 1/2 back at one point) to tie it up. The playoff was a game that could have gone either way. They blew it way back when Bill Lee quit. He was 10-3 at the time !
Now they are up against a gret team with good pitching and that is the way it goes. At home. Man this should be good. I watch Sox games and root for them everytime except when they play the Yanks.
What is a shame right now is what the Press and fans are doing to them. Typical Sox press. When their down they suck and are given up on. When the win they start talking about a championship ring. Take each game and pitch as it comes.
The Yanks got beat their first game of the series and went out and won the next one. The fans stood by them and let THEM play ball. No rehearsing and arm chair quartebacking of what I WOULD HAVE DONE. You are fans, NOT players.
Hopefully the Sox (and their fans) will give them a break this weekend and let them do what there hopefully gonna do.
If not, a great season was played and they made it to where they had to be.
