Lubing a reel

What should I use to lube my reel I have a Penn 7500ss? I have used WD40 but I heard that is not a good idea.

!!!! WD-40 is a no no, its a degreaser....not a lube....it will remove the grease

what I use: Penn reel lube for all my reels
and for high friction points: SUPER LUBE awesome stuff

Tight Lines!

Get a container of Penn Reel grease for most of the large interior parts (gears, shafts, inside of housing).

Get some 10 weight 3:1 oil for items like bearings.

WD-40 is okay for things like external hinges (handles, etc).

Most tackle shops in your area should have 'em in little containers. You could always call Bucko's in Fall River, MA.

Rich, Joe down at Snug Harbor Marine Service Center is the local Penn man ---- has the parts you'll need, and if you need repairs the service is outstanding

Penn also has a blue muscle grease thats good for the internal gears
