Attack of the Krylon Pikies

I promise...no more Pikie pics! I tryed some krylon on these when my other stuff ran out. I wanted to do a few more jointed. I liked the way my first black one swam but never got back to it. Thses are the last of the pikies till after I do ANYTHING else.

Top view

The one piece in the top pic is a birch with a lefty lip. Swims subsurface with a cool easy wiggle depending on retrieve speed. Fishes like a loaded bomber. That particular one is headed off to the "Bliz Plug road Show"

Sweet scales

I also like the way you are recessing the joint of the pikie so the 2 pieces fit snugly together. Thats one of my biggest peeves about jointed lures(the gap)

Is that Krylon from spray cans or another method?

Either way I like'em!

Does anyone else do the jointed pikies?...

Just think about the day which is soon coming, where you will be able to come and see these creations 1st hand!...

The Plug Project display will help to alleviate the symptoms of the winter doldrums!

OH "THAT" Joint! I'll post a pic with the next one. You'l see it better that way.

The cape man is right. I tie the head like regular plug then slip the loop from the tails head into it. I use the same bit as the belly hook 3/4" deep. When you tie the tail off it snugs up the connection. The loops have to be slim though or the tail will roll too much. I pinch the tail head loop over a 1/8 drill bit and crimp the heads "tail" hoop with pliers.
Thanks for the good words, they keep me pluggin along!

Bliz, I can do another jointed for the Pikie circus, no problem.....I think.

BTW, yes , krylon spray bomb's.
