Actually, I just found it.....
From the Providence Journal:
Mass. man dies in water while fishing in Middletown
MIDDLETOWN -- A 36-year-old man was swept away by a wave and died yesterday after slipping while fishing on the rocks at Sachuest Point.
Khammone Davannavong, of Fiske Street, Southbridge, Mass., was floating face down in the water when the police and fire departments responded at about 12:15 p.m., according to the police.
Davannavong had been fishing with friend Sombath Sivilay, also of Southbridge, on the east side of the point. Sivilay told the police that Davannavong had caught a fish which came off the hook when he pulled it in to the rocks. Sivilay said, according to the police, that Davannavong went to retrieve the fish when he slipped and was swept into the water by a wave.
The police said that waves were about four feet high and there was about a half-mile of visibility when they arrived.
Sivilay tried to save Davannavong, the police said, by extending his fishing pole, but the pole came apart and Davannavong was carried farther out by the next wave.
The police said Davannavong probably became exhausted trying to swim back to the rocks. Two other fishermen heard the cries for help, the police said, but were too late to help.
Firefighters Mark Wilkey and Glenn Williams used an inflatable boat to reach Davannavong, who was about 100 feet out from the shore when they arrived.
GUYS AND GIRLS - PLEASE BE CAREFUL OUT THERE!!!!!

I have to say, that with all the money you diehard surfcasters invest in gear, at the head of the list of must have equipment maybe there should be a good suspenders. The ones Slipknot wore at the Thames this winter looked comfortable and not restrictive. I would think anyone fishing on the edge, or even conditions that might come close to dangerous, should be taking some precautions.
I know I'd probably give it some serious thought if I were wading out into questionable conditions. Even on that bar FW showed me, man you wouldn't think those are dangerous conditions, but you could loose your footing and be swept off that bar and over deeper water in a heartbeat.

Very sad. Never thought that spot was soo dangerous but I guess at any given time , anywhere can get dangerous. I gotta get an inflatable PFD. You never know where or when you'll need it.

Its sad to hear of enyone fishing getting swept to there death like that. I feel bad for his family and his buddy who couldn't save him. what a tragedy.
PDF, should be on all of our lists this year. We had an experience last year on our boat that could have killed me, BC and Swimmer. We were fortunate, and still after it happend didn't put the life jackets on. We were stupid, just plain stupid!!!. Those new PDF are just like a lightweight fishing vest, and a very good thing to have on all the time. As already said, you just never know what you might get yourself into.

Since I've got the new boat, with the 150 HP Suzuki, I've started wearing the life jacket. The life jacket is attached the the kill switch, which I know works, because I killed the outboard twice this weekend getting up to reach for a soda.
When it comes to your life, I'd say be a good boy(girl)scout and be prepared. Same can be said of us boaters and you read every year about some pour soul who was thrown from his boat. Without a kill switch on, that boat can do you in.

That is sad indeed. Two fishermen got swept off the Pennfield reef the other night. Both of them lived I think. They went too far out at night with an incoming tide.
Of course my parents started in on me how dangerous it is. The fact is, Pennfield is completely safe if you pay attention to the tide which these two guys didn't do. My parents don't realize this because they have never fished or been out on the reef for that matter, even at low tide. Two people ruin it for me.
