Super Strike Bullet Plugs

I picked a few of these up from the SWE booth at the RISAA show. Anyone ever use these? They look like mini-needles. I was thinking of adding a single hook with hair to the back instead of the treble.

You mean like this?

I love those plugs....The plug makers will disagree about about the up-facing hooks....but I do that so it's less likely to hang up.
A great plug and good value...next to the almighty Habs needle, it's my favorite

What ever you do, don't put an eel skin on it!

I've never used them, and they sink, so I assume I would use them like a needlefish...twitching the rod as I retrieve.
Nice Joe, thanks for the pics. I'll make them part of this years arsenal.

I don't think there's a wrong way to fish a needlefish. Rip it across the top as fast as you can crank and they'll catch albies and bonito.

They'll dart if you lower the tip and pull across your body. Or you can do the standard variety of needlefish retrieves.
Very effective on the Block - I lost the biggest fish of my life on one on there - the hooks straightened. A VMC upgrade is a good idea.
