Those of you that fuss and worry about the meager million lbs. that the commercial striper fisherman catches should start fussing and worrying about PETA. You may not even go recreational fishing if they ever get their way.

Fishing hurts,eh? Ya know a fisherman really shouldn't be distracted whilst he's working. He works with sharp objects with barbs. It would be a shame if'n ya walked down to lecture him and got an arse full of trebles set three times. PETA pppppfffffftttt!

I had a run in with one of them people last fall. I was fighting a striper and as I landed the fish some women starts yelling at me. About how much fun and pain the fish was in while fighting it. So after a few choice words from me I picked the fish up (with plug still in) and through it back in and played it again. I turned around and said to the women " I bet it's really hurts the second time around" do you want to see a third? If it bothers them that much then fine they don't need to fish, but they also don't need to go out of their way to bother fisherman either.

These idots don't have a clue. Looking at the PETA site I saw the words, "fish are friends, not food". As most anglers know the underwater world is the most violent world there is. Full of ambush preditors, and cannibalism. It makes the Serengeti look like an amusement park. These are the same people who would do anything for a stray animal, but don't give a $hit about orphans, children who don't have enough to eat or need educational help. OK, I guess my rant is over.

Love,
Re:""fish are friends, not food". That's a line from the movie "finding Nemo" that movie might do for fishing what "Bambi" did for deer hunting.

They are making money. I just keep on fishing. I wonder when they will send a group to the canal? Do you think they would ask for a boycott of fishing tournaments?

plants are ALIVE!
you have to Kill a head of lettuce to eat it. Same with broccoli, cabbage and the rest. Are all of these PETA jerks vegetarians?
i doubt it... do they still go out to restaurants. Absolutely! Do they wear leather shoes? Yes they do! Cars with leather interiors?YUP, ..............They probably even ride horses.
Oh my god , won't that give a horsey a backache Mommy?
Have they ever tried to modify route 9's center barrier which is a NASTY slaughterhouse design? NO.
The best solution is to pay close attention to WHO is a "member" of Peta and not elect them, nor watch any television events that they Host ,as many celebrity's
find it fashionable to become PETA spokesperson's so Boycott
anything they do! .....And tell your kids too....that if you keep watching this or that Peta is going to take fishing away from Daddy and then daddy is going to go postal on peta and you'll never ever see DADDY (or mommy) again. they boil my blood

Have you noticed that most of the PETA activists are college students? I bet they figure that these kids are probably flunking anyay, so why not "brainwash" them with some nonsensical crap about fanatical animal cruelty. Mind you, if I saw someone abusing an animal, I would definitely pay attention, but to harass legitimate fisherman and hunters who are catching food is idiotic.
These people won't lift a finger to help clean out the numerous habitats that they help DESTROY, thus killing untold millions of the same animals they claim to be protecting. It's pure hypocricy.
If any fool from PETA tries to bother me while I'm fishing ANYWHERE, I'm going to (verbally) tear them a new a$$hole.
Then they'll have another hole to spew crap out of.

When I was a student at Rutgers, a small group of PETA folks set up a protest outside of the McDonalds in New Brunswick. After they called me a murderer, I went in and bought them all a double cheeseburger. I gave it to them right as the cops were pulling up. They got fined for throwing the burgers at me and the windows of the McDonalds.
Funny thing I noticed about the vegetarians I knew in college... they wouldn't eat meat, but they never ate healthy. You'd think they would eat a lot of salads and vegetables, but they always were eating cookies and potato chips. Talk about a picture of health, they were all always sick and/or had anemia.

These PETA people are unbelievable...frieakin' overly liberal minded yuppie scum without a hobby. What they need to realize is that animals like cows, chickens, pigs etc. only exist to be a staple at the bottom of the food chain. There has always been a symbiotic relationship of predator/prey in nature and since man has "evolved" to include a conscience it's suddenly wrong to eat meat??!?! Get over it...pass the A-1 please...
