Canal Update

Does anyone have any updates on the canal? I'm looking to go there tonight and want to know what areas (if any) are producing.

Dude, I'm going with buddy tonight too.... Wed am was good...THurs am was ok.... Fri am I nailed about 6 fish on the end of the west and about 14 on the beggining of the east.. lots of 30" fish all on jigs. The winds changed up sat and things may hit the brakes after 3 cool nights and then hit fall mode if it doesn't warm up (which it probably will seeing as to how its early sept, yikes). SO to answer your question, YEs, lots of fish. SOme biguns in the mix occasionaly but I'll tell you about tonight tomorrow...case by case ya know...

I fished the Canal last night from about 10pm till about 8 this morning. No fish last night on jigs. I got one short this morning on a Gibbs Pencil popper. Saw a couple of nice fish taken this morning around 3am by others, 1 was taken on an eel under the sagamore, the other was taken by a jigger I believe. I must hook up with someone who jigs there so that I can get the mechanics down.

Yeah, last night was pretty good. me and bud got about 10 fish each, some micros but I did nail one 30" and one 33". the 33" was on the retrieve right out in front and the thing bust open on top water. it was purty. Specialist, were you with 2 other big dudes right under the bridge on the west side of it? I was fishing the point with my bud. We did find some rat bastages that f'ed up my eel skins so he is going to sacrifice one for me on the grill nothing sucks more than catching blues on eel skins. SUCK SUCK SUCK SUCKIFIED SUCKYness.

Yes that was me. It was a long night for us. You guys were just west of us? We left there and went to Macos at about 4am ,then came back and plugged with everyone else. It was good to see that some people were getting fish. I still have alot to learn about that place. I caught my only fish on a Gibbs pencil popper that I picked up this morning. It was funny everyone had stopped pluggin, they were just watching, and waiting. I tossed it out and got hit almost immediately. All eyes were on me. As soon as I landed and released it , there were plugs flying everywhere.
