Aerial photos of your favorite spots

Here's an interesting web site to check out aerial photos of your favorite fishing spots.

You can get a free two week trial but you need a high speed internet connection to make it work right. The regular subscription is $29.00 and offers some improved features, including a topographical feature that's good for scouting hunting spots.

Nahh... Slip - I don't think he's schlepping Keyhole (are you?) so I think it's the latter and not ...

On the other hand, this is for free http://ortho.edc.uri.edu/ and was developed by the brother of one our original members...

Relax, no spamming here. I was just passing along something I thought was interesting, and FREE. Google owns Keyhole . . . maybe I can get Google to pay me a 50% commission on all the surfcasters that sign up for a free trial

NOAA has some great high altitude ortho-photos in their database. They are also corrected to remove the peripheral distortion. Here is a great picture of Saquish and the Gurnet that came from NOAA.

Here is the LINK to the NOAA NOS map finder. It is tricky to navigate but there are some hidden gems in there. There are lots of cool prints in the archive section too.

Thumbs up DEM Map server

Forget about that URI stuff. Here's the URL of the DEM map server that shows both topos and black and white orthophotos

http://www.state.ri.us/DEM/maps/index.htm

Once you've zoomed into a small enough area of the state map, click on "image layers", select topo or aerial, then click on "refresh map" button.

Trnr...
DEM is using the same topos and same photos as the RIGIS web-page... just FYI before you "forget about" that URI stuff

Same data, but DEM's is a lot easier to use. Check it out!
