Winners of the Four Leg Tourney!!!
OK - I haven't heard of any fish from the final Rhody leg of the Striped-Bass.com 4 Leg C&R Tourney beating any of the previous fish from the tourney. The biggest fish from Rhody being DaveS's 13 pound cow (which I think went in the freezer anyway ).
The prize for first place is already set. * The prizes for 2nd & 3rd place of the 4 Leg C&R are dependent on how things shake out with the year long tourney...
So here are the final standings:
The final leader board is:
1) 42.5 inch - Redcrbbr - 1 1088 Custom Sabre Conventional Rod matched with an Abu CT or CS Mag or 1 1088 Custom Sabre Spinner matched with an Shimano Stratic 5000 or 6000 donated by Mike Thomas from CapeCodTackle.Com // M&Ds, Wareham (Mike is on vacation until some point in November)
2) 41 inch - Fishpart - 1 Choice of Batson/Sabre 1088/89/965 or Loomis SUR965 (if I can reasonably get it) in Conventional or Spinning donated by yours truly *
3) 38 inch - Canalratt1 - Assortment of Plugs donated by Hab's Lures and a few other odds and ends : *
Still open for the winner of the year long (which, of course will be known at the end of the year :
1 10 foot Custom Spinning Rod donated by Weekapaug B&T < http://www.weekapaug.com>
OR a 1 1087 Loomis Conventional Heavy Canal Jigging stick donated by Saltheart for the biggest Ditch Fish (currently leading the yearlong too)
The current leader in the Year Long is Slip's 45" 32.5 # Ditch Bass
* Again, the prizes for 2nd & 3rd place of the 4 Leg C&R are dependent on how things shake out with the year long tourney...
Now depending on how the Yearlong breaks down will determine if there is a rod for both 2nd & 3rd place of the 4 Leg. At which point, Saltheart and I will work out which prize goes where...
I hope this makes sense - I haven't had all my coffee this morning

Congratulations to Redcrbbr. Only fitting he got the biggest that day since it was his spot.
We should set a closing date for the year long. Maybe Dec 1?
Fishpart wins a rod? Even the blind squirrel occasionally finds a nut!! Just kidding. Congrats Fishpart. BTW , take the loomis if John can get it. Nice rod
Everything worked out good I thought. Would have liked to see the winner be a 50 pounder (that I caught) but as a group we got some nice fish.

We could be in trouble if The Better Half from Warwick meets The Better Half from Glocester on the other hand Liam could pick up a few tricks.
As for 2nd place I owe my success to Redcrbbr for putting me in the right location and to John for teaching me the right way to work the rip.

Plugs! Don't say plugs BM has already threatened me that his sticky fingers will find a way into my surf bag. Congrats Reccrabber and Fishpart and also Clammer for cutting lines in Rhody!

The money I spent having lines cut could have bought a rod and a reel

Congrats to all. You mean someone actually catches fish at one of these events . Figures it would be one I chose to not fish, however seems to me that I did so in order to get out on my favorite spot and that was the killer large fish day, so I'm not complaining.

thank you
Thank You!
It was a night of fishing that i will never forget, and was very happy to be able to share the spot with you guys. So the year long is still open.... hmmmmm
john, i would like the conventional set up just like yours, especially after i saw how effortlessly you were casting that setup a hundred yards into the wind at the andrea. again thank you all.
