I know where that is!

That's the wide part of the Salmon river on the first weekend in October.

Thats what happens when you don't protect your fishing spot.

if you saw the traffic those guys had to go thru to get there, you would know why standing elbow to elbow doen't phase them.

I recognize that spot. It is actually looking down the south side of Montauk. That's why I don't fish Montauk anymore.

All easy access gets you is big crowds and guys with bad attitudes. Yeah there are a lot of fish...but is it really worth fishing like that? Honestly?

Would you leave you aquaskinz bag loaded with custom plugs on a beach with a crowd like that at night? (or even during the day). It sucks when you go down to relax for a few hours to throw some plugs and you get ripped off or your vehicle gets busted into or just having to worry about getting ripped off....

IMO Montauk is better fished from a boat anyway, the surf scene is overrun with guys....1/2 of which are guys from NJ and Nassau county that make the drive to stand 2' next to you....Many of whom are decent guys but it aint fun, even when big fish move in tight to the beach. ...and you throught the breachway was bad on a Friday night?
