Too Windy Tonight?

What's it going to be doing down on the south shore tonight. Listened to the weather last night and they were predicting 20 to 30 knots from SW. That could be tough. Anybody hear a report this morning?

Haven't heard the forcast, but last night it was blowing about 20 at 845 and by 1000 it seemd to be calm up in the Alps. Hope the rule of the wind dying with the sun holds true.

Just picked up from Intellicast for Narragansett:

Friday night:
Partly cloudy. Low near 38F. Winds W 10 to 15 mph.

I just checked the weather channel site abd they said 10 to 15 for Westerly. Is there a good site for a marine forecast?

The NWS uses raw data and doesn't interpret as much into that data like a good weatherman (rare) would. The NWS is forecasting coastal winds of 15-25WSW tonight - It's hard but those are really good winds for this area this time of year. A lot of big fish comeo out of those conditions. When Bill had his, he said he was getting 30-40 foot casts maximum on his eels in more wind but they slayed the fish....

A place like Napatree has a round point where you can find a place to get out of the wind a bit. The best night I ever had there I was casting into a honkin' west wind all of 20 yards. The night started out slow until I figured out that the 20 yards cast was well beyond the fish..........Oh, It also happened to be two nights before Bill got his 50.

Looks like its worth driving down. We won't be at napatree though. Big plan is to drive to carpenters beach and I'll hobble down and chuck some bait while Smokey works the beach with plugs. I just can't afford to screw the knee up more. Its chuck bait or stay home. Ch#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&g bait is better than not fishing at all!

Other than live herring or eels , this will be my first bait ch#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&g adventure since about Nov 1998. Hey , I've seen big fish hauled in on a bunker head. Maybe I'll get lucky.

There won't be any long walks for me either, I tweeked my knee last night playing hockey and I'm going on a weekend shopping trip to Maine with my wife. Maybe I can hook a trout in the LL Bean trout pond.
