Trying to finish my plugs

I know this has been asked a thousand times.....and I did a search but, I still have a question. I can't find envirotex at the store....and from what I have read it seems like you guys "turn " your plugs as they dry. I dont have a way to turn them....so is there anything else I can use as a finish coat? Thanks, Jay

michaels has it, and with the 40% off coupon it's cheap. just get an old rotiserie(sp) motor and form yourself a plug kabob.

you dont have to spin them. In fact if you put too much epoxy on the plug and the plug isnt 100% horizontal on the spinner, the epoxy will pool up and bulge. Another tried and true method is to hang them on hooks and flip them every 5 minutes for the first hour, then every 15 minutes for the next 2 or 3 hours.

I hang my plugs vertically. Brush on a coat...hang. Next day brush on another coat, flip 180 degrees. Set it and forget it, it'll smooth out all by itself without babysitting.

Devcon, 2 ton, 30 minute epoxy. You can find it at Walmart in the paint section. Make sure to get the 30 minute stuff. Mix it up and apply it with an acid brush, then hang and flip as Eben suggests. You'll only have to flip the plug a few times before it sets up.
