Charlie Waterman, R.I.P

Charlie Waterman died this past wednesday at age 91. His obituary was in the Orlando, FL, paper today.

One of the great, all-time hunting/fishing writers. A sad loss....

His column in the aft end of SWS was always required reading. All the old guard are going over the bar, big shoes to fill.

It is sad to hear of the loss of another of the older generations. The old guard are fellows that got to work when everything wasn't an advertisement or max-profit driven entity. They were able to work when a big audience was in its infancy but before they left and before the rest leave, they are passing on to some of the new guard. Some of those new guard have paid attention, and that's encouraging....
