Question TV advice

Anyone know alot about TV's. Looking to get a new 32" this weekend and don't know what I should look for. Flat screen or not? Wide screen? I'm partial to JVC and Sony but who else makes a quality set $600 or less? Too many different choices gets me confused

When I bought my 32" I looked at a bunch of different brands. I ended up buying a Panasonic I think it had the best picture. If you want a flat screen I think you will be paying more than 600.

So far I've found 2 models of JVC and 1 Sony, all flat screens from $470-570. Is the picture really better and worth the money?

Jeff, HD is definately going WAY over my budget

Regardless of what size brand, ensure it is an HD tv. The picture (especially sports) is mind boggling compared to regular televisions. Even the news is nicer in HD.
Regular TVs are gonna be obselete soon.

You should probably be able to get some sweet deals with the Super Bowl commin up.

Wow I thought the flat screens were a lot more than that. Maybe I was thinking plasma.

Rwilhelm,

Flat screen's came way down in price once HD came out.

The price of my tv was 500.00 less 1 year later.
Just like anything once somthing new comes out the price drops on last years model.

For what it's worth Consumer Reports rates the regular 32" TV's as such...

1. Toshiba 32A43
2. RCA 32V430T
3. Sony KV-32FS120
4. JVC AV-32D305
6. Toshiba 32AF44
7. Panasonic CT-32SL14

I've had a 32" Trinitron for 10 years now and it's been great.

I had a sony 32" wega for about five years...spent like $1100 new, but now I think they're like 6-700.
Great set, but not HD and like 720.
Traded it to a roommate who I referred for a management position.
His referral got me $2000 in Best Buy gift certificates which I used to purchase a DLP Samsung 52".
It rocks!!! You wouldn't believe all my new best friends when it comes to watching games at my place. Best Buy has 36 month interest free financing if you pay it all off before the end of the term.
I've got 11 more months (mine was financed for 18 months); bad news is that you need a good stereo receiver (which I had) and a decent surround package to make it all worth while.
Cables alone to hook up the tv and receiver were like $800; since the purchase I'm also upgrading my speakers...I got two Jensen 400 watt band speakers off Sportsman's Outfitters for $90 a piece...now looking to upgrade the center channel, too.
Good thing Bugaboo Creek pays off sales contests in Best Buy gift cards!!!
Even got Mikey an Xbox for free out of the deal for Xmas this year.
Any questions feel free to pm me.
Later,
Rick
