Wink So When Do You Guys Start Getting The Fever?

Halfway through February and the last few warm days have me getting a little jiggy. Premature spring fever I think. At what point do you guys start breaking out your gear and start hunting around your spots for striper action? I find myself venturing down the backside once a week starting in mid-March to scout out my spots, checking structure and seeing what the winter has left behind. April 1st I might start tossing some plugs if for no other reason than just to get out and get the muscles back in fishing shape! I will start largie fishing March 1 though depending on the weather and if there is ice on top or not....I don't see an issue as yet....trout soon though.

Almost time to get our fish on!!!

I am already itching. Now that the frozen tundra has left the river I have been scouting low tides to see the changes in my holes. Haven't ventured to the cape yet, but I have walked alot of the south shore already. I also broke out one of my rods with the warm weather and made a few casts, why? because I gotta

I have also tailored my gym routine around fishing. I have been trying to strengthen my lower back and core muscles for the up coming season

My sweet water gear is ready ta go for some spring fishing for large mouths...

I'm ready, I'm ready, I'm ready !!!

Tying some buck tails up at my desk right now as well

Wonder why the people at work think I am obsessed

Used hard and put away dirty....

I would say those last few days and going to the fishing expo have created this little knawing sensation in my head and heart. It is so suttle yet I know it is constant. I fish some local streams for trout in a couple weeks.

The Wachusett Resevoir is about 5 mins. from my house in Holden so I really like to get down there for some spring Lake Trout action. Also some Large and Small Mouth Bass.

Thumbs up

We always have the fever Larry. why do you think we hang out at these sites and go to plug building thingies and stuff? Some of us have learned to control it but we always have it.

Why even try.........

as soon as the ski lifts close, i will break out the fishing gear. going to do a little spring training down in Florida in mid april.the best way to cure the itch right now is to rub some shavings from plug turnings on the affected area.

Aside from holdovers , its still a month away for even the most anxious. Relax , in that month we got the TFCTFN , the MSBA show. We'll make it!!

That's another reason to live minutes from my favorite stretch of sand, I can go there everyday, and get a sniff of good salt air on my way to work, take a look at the water, the sand, everchanging.

Then I can go huff paint and sawdust on my day off, or in the evening, if the other folks in the house don't have other plans for me.

That will be one plug, Larry, got my addy

Yup,
I'm very fidgety right now.
Me and Mikey goin' ice fishin next Tuesday. First time I've had to resort to outside winter drinking in some time. Guess this means a big year for me.
Later,
Rick

I started twitching as soon as I put my gear away. Thank goodness I'm addicted to plug building.
