Holdover Striper

Went down to Virginia Beach to look at a boat with a client on Friday. While crossing the Chesapeake Bay Bridge on Saturday while watching the sunrise I could help getting excited thinking about 30% of the East Coast Stripers swimming past this bridge to spawn in less than a month.

When we got to the Virginia Beach side we stopped at the biggest Tackle shop on the East coast. I wanted to pick up some Mo-Jo rigs like we used off of Nags Head NC last month.
They have three colors they like… Chartuse, Chartuse and Chartuse.

We took a ride on the Grady in Chesapeake Bay and while approaching the dock I saw a fish breaking the surface. When I pointed to it I could clearly see it was a holder Schoolie enjoying the sunshine and the obvious downhill side of winter. I know why the seller was selling this boat because what true Grady owner would not have a rod onboard!

On the ride back I rigged up what I call an anti umbrella rig to try up north. If the Stripers like Chartuse in NC why not try it off of Cohasset.

The good news is that we have to go down in three weeks to get the boat!
