Unhappy Well I think thats it Help Im going CRAZY!!

Went down to my usual spot to play with schoolies for a little while but there were none to catch, bait that was there yesturday is gone. Soooooo i figured 1 more time down the breachway went down to the local baitshop closed!! It was only 3:00 so i went to 3 others in the area only to find them closed for the season. So that blew my night. Great weather conditions tonight sw wind at 5mph a bit cold but extra layers will clear that up and a nice earyl tide. I am so depressed all i want to do is catch fish or atleast try.
Now i will start thinking of all the good times i had this season and start preparing for next season. cleaning up my rods tying new buck tails making some plugs sinkers and jigs. Making my shopping list for next season a lot of which I don't need but want anyway. Does anyone else walk into a tackle shop buy rods and reels and lures you don't need but buy them anyway because you can't resist? About the only person who is hapy about the season coming to a close is my wife. She seems to think that fishing matters more than she does..... which might be true. LOL J/K.....

I will most likely be posting a lot more often here as I have the need to talk fishing. I will ask a lot of dumb questions and sometimes talk about stupid things about fishing that nobody cares about, I guess I just need to be doing something if i can't fish might as well discuss it. I only have 1 friend who goes and loves fishing as much as I do. So I am glad to have found this board so i may talk to others who share the same interest.

we're all in the same boat Anthony. Too bad about the shops being closed, maybe you should try plugging, a whole 'nother addiction

Good thing you don't hunt. My wife gets my attention for about 2 weeks between fishing and hunting. Then maybe 2 months between hunting and fishing. She still loves me though.

Bent Rods and Screaming Reels!

My wife used to get the same, until I started fishing all winter , now she gets no break, unless there is a hard cold spell to freeze the ramps solid .

Spousal criticism

Fishing at dawn has reduced the amount of spousal criticism I have received over the last few months. I have often returned to the house before she gets up. She only knows I've been fishing when she smells fish juice on my jeans or sees wet waders hanging in the shower--but then I get hammered for the wet waders in the shower!!

I wish it was April instead of November!!!!!

Anthony, going to print that one out and show the wife that I am not the only mental one out there - Good thread! Bob Senior, I have to same problem with my waders and fishing gear, living in NYC, there ain't no nearby hose where I can wash off my gear, so I wash it in the tub, the wife really loves the 1 in' of sand when she goes to take a bath in the AM. I go into a bait shop and have to come out with something, some kind of lure, leaders, hooks, something! Funny thing is that I fish eels 99.9% of the time, so all my lures just sit there!

The .01 % I live Jigging. I have a light setup with a Penn 4400 & 5500 (never had any anti reverse problems but that's a separate thread) reels and your standard average run of the mill light action pole.

I'm looking to upgrade to a new, fast action, light as hell, can cast a mile, durable, schoolie pole that can throw up to @ least 1 oz or better, can hold a 30 lber, and did I mention light as hell and can cast a mile? Does this pole exist?

In regards to going through fishing withdrawls, I play hockey year round but still miss stalking the striper surf from Dec - April. I'm gonna start throwing random pops into the E. River, will let you know if I catch anything? Have a feeling all this will change as wife is expected on Jan 3rd - first one!
