Question Taking Cub Scouts to Battleship Cove on 4 June...fishing charter on Friday?

We are taking the Cub Scout Pack from our town to Battleship Cove in Fall River, Mass on Saturday, 4 June 2005 for a campout/sleepover. I was hoping to line up a boat fishing trip for the kids on Friday PM or Sat early AM. It would be about 10-20 kids(8-10yr olds)and parents ( I am taking a guess on this #, as I have no details, prices or times yet) Does anyone have a good suggestion for a charter boat in that general area? It can be your boat, or one you have fished on before. I am guessing that a half day trip would be best. It would need to have a very patient crew and Capt! Most of these kids have not really fished much (they all don't have striper addicts for fathers like my kids do). Please give me a call at 860-480-0201 if I have not given enough info. Thanks for any info or suggestions.

now for the money captain johns can't be beat..... kids will have a blast... regardless if the are put on jumbo scup, sea bass, or even blues...

Frances Fleet is one i wouldn't recommend for kids... Been on those boats way way too many times... it's more of a boat for the experienced fisherperson that likes a crowd... if you get what i mean...

fished the seven b's a few times for fluke... always got my limit with some prize fish to go along..

If you got 20 kids and 20 adults i'm pretty sure you could get a boat to yourself...

Have fun

Oh man my son is one rank from Eagle and we have made that trip many times over the years... you'll have fun just get plenty of rest the next day lol... I agree Capt Johns was always pretty easy for my kids and Plymouth isn't that far from Fall River

Battleship cove

Gooood luck Pal, I did the battleship thing when my kids were in Cub Scouts twice- don't plan on sleeping. Between the kids getting jacked on the all night Coke and candy machines and the Dad's that could rattle the bolts out of the ship snoring it's a nightmare for most adults . Then you get the kid who brings the oversized superballs and bounces them down the hallways -steel floors, ceiling and walls -it sounds like the hammers of hell. But given the chance I would do it again in a heartbeat the kids smile for days and talk about it for years. As far as fishing go with Capt johns boats out of Plymouth theyalways give scouts a deal. Have fun and bring the ear plugs
