Shrinking eels

The eels that I had left over from fishing had passed away. The eels stayed alive up to 10 days in the double bucket system.

There were eels that croaked earlier that I freezed for rigging were a decent size however I noticed that the eels that kicked the bucket last have shrunked in their size.

Is it me or has anyone also noticed the shrinking eel ?
