Westport River
The last two weekends have been very good in the Westport River. On 5/27 we totaled over 25 stripers up river. They ran from 24" to 32". My son lost a large fish. When the popper came back the hook was bent straight. I know, replace the factory hooks with better hooks. Lesson learned.
Saturday, 6/4, the fog forced us down river. We caught approximately 35 fish. Over 20 blues and the rest stripers. The fish were caught on herring. The largest striper was 20# coming at dusk. My sons largest striper to date. On the drive home he complained of a sore arm and shoulder while talking about his 38", 20# fish.
As a dad, this is what it is all about. Fishing with your son and memories that will last a lifetime.

Very weedy yesterday outside the river yesterday, no signs of bait or bluefish outside, fluke in Sakonnet until high tide, then wandered back to fish the flats up river after the tide switch, like poling for bones but much closer to home!!!
