2 small blocks plus some fiddling with the cast control and liberal thumbing make this reel scream.

SNAKE, come by Melody Hill and you can try it out on the "practice" field.

the key to making a 7000 cast smooth is to have the spool bearings well oiled. this may require re-oiling either everytime you go fishing or every other. also, you will need to really cast the reel hard early on to break in the bearings.

You don't even need an even number of brake blocks. I use one small one in each of my 7000"s

You can mix the the centrifugal brakes on an Abu 7000. But I just take them all out and add ceramic bearings. It casts a mile but you better have your thumb ready!

I only use mono with the brakes out...I find the braided too unforgiving in any highspeed induced backlash.
