start putting my name on this years sh*t for luck award. Suzuki mechanic stopped by yesterday and confirmed the shifting problem isn't cables or any adjustments, but something internal. Won't know until they pull it apart some, but worse case for the gear/shift set is $485 in parts and about the same in labor. Can you say aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh.

Anyone have a good used 150 HP lower units sitting around? That hole in the water you throw money into just keeps getting bigger. What really S*cks is that I probably bought this used boat/outboard with that problem to start with and the new cables this past spring, just bought me one more season before there wasn't any alternative.

If it's only money can you lend me about $12,000, which just might buy me a new one. Actually I'd love to nurse this one a few more years, so the bigger 4 strokes can put together a track record and work the bugs out. Down the road I'd love to put one of those bigger 140 HP four strokes on, maybe then I can put on that Tuna fighting chair and head further east .

Damn your making my job hard! Ok getting the water pan out and some olive oil... must be 100% pure Italian by the way... Yup just as I thought the oil is spreading and you have a case of the Meloki (Evil eye for you non-Italians) Ok just send me a years supply of rubber and any spare cash and you will be all set! GS hope it works out for you, boats can be a pain and costly! My dad has a 25 HP Suzuki four stroke and no problems yet except for some miner ones from that famous dealer in Wareham.

GS, give this guy a call and tell him that bob told you to call, he would be the one i would call if i was in your situation. his name is peter oleson and owns bayside marine in westport, ma., just happens to be my neighbor. give him a call, i'm willing to bet he can beat that price of the rebuild, or may even have the parts available.
