I wouldn't replace that lip. Use it. It looks like it has stood the test of time.
Never mess with a plugs MOJO.

If you don't want to use that lip I'll swap you an original stainless lip for it.

Pops, do the swap with Bernzy for an original lip. The Moores lip is too big and would have to be ground down. Nobody makes a duplicate of the old CCB pikie lips which is a shame.

the wire going through the head section is folded/doubled back like an open wedge shape, leaving an angled "eye" to connect to the middle section....
you feed the wedge in from the front throught the lip...

I picked up some stainless #16 wire at a welding supply.
Im going to prime then spray with white krylon .
whats the best way of sealing the lure ?
how many coats should I aim for before sealing ????

+ Im replacing the stirups with shwivels, means split rings or cutting the hooks
???

pikie

if the factory or creek chub already sealed it, I was just going to prime and paint. in the head part with the wire folded/doubled back I wonder how hard it going to be to get the wire through the swevel, I'm thinking 3x strong split rings and 4x vmc hooks.I'm taking my pikie apart tonite and see what the inside of the hook holder thing looks like.alot of guys use boiled linseed oil or val oil to seal there plugs, I've never done it I'm just repeating what I've heard or been told.ed

Without question, seal the plug before primer.

The 30 minute, 2 ton takes around 30 minutes to set up. It will still be tacky at this time. Usually need to let it sit for 24 hours before using the plug. I've used it on plugs in the past and not noticed any yellowing.

2 ton sounds right .I'd hate to see it go yellow under the sunlight 3months after
refinishing it.
do you simply brush a mixture on like paint sect by sect???
