How late can the Fall run go?

With the recent slew of bad weather and obligations this upcoming Halloween weekend. Is it worth fishing into November? I'm no googan but I have generally stopped throwing plugs once November comes around. I see lots of guys here talk about the snow storm blitz in the 80's when I was around 8 years old, so I don't know of it.

So given that water temps were a little higher than normal, can we expect to have fishing up to turkey day?

What is the latest date you have caught bass (warm water discharge spots aside) ?

Last year we were still catching stripers the weekend after Thanksgiving, if anything this year should go even later.

What he said.

There was a nice school of fish that went through that week after thanksgiving last year. the whole south coast of RI was a blitz. Then I went out on Dec. 5 and the sea was dead. that was my last day last year.

This year I am going to try to learn some winter techniques from Clammah. Apparently he fishes the bay year round.

I don't fish Boston to much, but you're not to far form Rhody or even CT. I make the commute from the Springfield area every weekend until usually the first week of December. Hey, gas prices just fell.

As of last friday night there were still good size fish on the so. shore of mass. I think there is at least another 3-4 weeks of fishing in that small state to the south of us(no spot burn).

Fished lunchtime today up here with Steelhead and Doc. Lotsa micros, and I got a nice 35" fatty willing to take a needle on a slooowwww retrieve. I believe we will have fish around later than any of the past three or four years based upon the numbers still around.

There's still a lot of bait that hasn't even dropped out of the upper bay yet.

In '02 I caught bass into the 1st week of Dec.

Right now there are a ton of bass still around.Just walked in from fishing a bass blitz.Nothing big(3-8#ers) but when you get 50 or so in a row its still fun.

Thanks for the info guys. I guess I should keep my line in the water until I find no reason to. The cold weather is the only thing that may slow people down but given the "fishaholic syndrom " I sense with most of you, many sharpies will still be out in force and the fish chunking beer drinkers will be long gone.

PS. I always find that during ski season "my other passion" people stop waaay to early. In fact most places get more snow in April than February or January.

A legend perhaps, but for god knows what

I have to cherish the opportunities to outfish Bryan, cause it doesn't happen very often

Pheasant hunting in Iowa is most excellent. It's just like here, if you have access you can get on the choice private land. I used to know guys who would bag well over a hundred birds in a season. It's been years since I've been out though...never got into shooting things.

Ahhh yes, the mother of all backlashes. Bryan after noticing what went wrong snickered and demanded I return to his truck to fetch him an icy cold beverage. Perhaps if #^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^& were there instead he would have provided some help to a poor Iowa boy lost without his fields of corn.

There's a special place down below waiting for you Mr. Rockhound, and it doesn't rhyme with the number seven

First off; dont blame me; I told you to bring the other stick...
2. It was gatorade, not beer
3. You had continued to fish that rod after the 'lash and finally caved in and got the other rod...
4. I never snickered...

Ahhhh the dreded backlash, they always make me laugh, I cant help it ! But it does happen to even the best at times, Always bring a back up stick!!

I would have gave you a knife and told you to start cutting !!!!

And I can only see the image of you frantically pulling at the nest as everyone around is yelling "I am on again" There in here good" By the time the thing is out you are left with half a spool of line...........Man that sucks!!!

Hang in there Spence, It only get better!

I am sure the bevarge fetching is a small price to pay for you to be in bryans honey hole!!
