Post your family tree.....

i heard a little story about my ancestors i thought i'd share.

it was told to me by my younger brother after he and his son Eric
went up to Nova Scotia this past summer to research our family's history for a school project for which he recieved an "A".

Apparently i'm related to a long line of Scottish fishermen who had sailed from Scotland to Nova Scotia because the fishing was so much better there. As the story goes...We are related to BIG JEAN who had two sons who would go down to the docks to meet incoming ships ,and with all the sailors there was usually a wrestling match where everyone would wager money on the guy who would win.

Now in those days except for an occasional dance or sing along there really wasn't much of any entertainment and fishing was slow in the winter time so this wrestling was sorta a big deal. Well...the two sons were quite good at their sport and often came home with money in their pockets after a grand time of wrestling with the sailors but this one year....they both came home so battered and bruised by the biggest meanest sailor that ever lived that they just barely escaped with their lives.

When they came home and "BIG JEAN" saw this...she got madder than hell and went down to deal with this big brute of a sailor .... and she proceeded to beat the living snot out of him and came home with a huge amount of cash right in time for christmas much to the surprise of the two sons and everyone else for that matter.....and from then on she had the ultimate respect of all the villagers and was from then on was known as "BIG Jean". Also when she politely asked her sons to do something they did it without any back-talk. i think that's priceless.
