Newell parts?

I have a Newell C220-5 and a 229-F that I want to bring back up to speed. Where can I get parts for these? I assume I'll at least need replacement drag washers and bearrings for both, and the the 220 needs a new rod clamp. I would like to support a local guy, but all I can find online are suppliers out in Cali.

I don't have parts for Newell but the 500 penn jigmaster drags are the same size as the 220,229 & 235

On the bearings, if you measure the OD, the ID and the width you can probably get them from a bearing supplier like BOCA Bearings. Miniature bearings are almost always spec'd in millimeters..

penn 140L squidder bearings are the same as the newell bearings, too. I have every model dating back to the original "p" series and the penn bearings fit them and are of much higher quality. MikeCC might even have ceramics for the newells, too. He just put a set in my abu7000 and the reel is awesome now. I think, but am not entirely sure, that the abu bearings are the same size as the newells.

Are u sure the bearings are the same size?
I need a bearing for a 235.
I thought it was much smaller than the 140L bearings. But I'll check.

Yes, the squidder and newell bearings are the same. When I purchase replacements, I specify squidder bearings. The newell bearings are garbage, especially the ones that came in the "S" series reels. They(newell) may have begun using a different and better bearing with the newly reintroduced "P" series, but I can't confirm it.

I have the 235. Man, that drag is horrible from Newell.

I swapped out drags to smoothie, and like Mike said the smooth drag was labled 500 Penn. I like the HT drag as well.
