Sox Are VERY Close...
...to a deal for Covelli "Coco" Crisp. He's no Johnny Damon (4 seasons .287 BA/.332 OBP vs Damon's 11 seasons .290/.353), but he's young, cheap, and improving every year. I just wish he'd wear his cap straight.

I don't think they will be close in the East come September though....
Toronto has done the best job this off season, and I see them trying to hold off the Yanks down the stretch, while we wallow maybe ten games off the pace. I hope I'm wrong, but ....
If I am wrong and the Sox are in contention, I know one of youse guys will 'bump' this up to give me the business....

I couldn't agree more. I'm thinking:
1. Skankees - 95 to 99 wins
2. Blow Jays - 90 to 95 wins
3. Red Sux - 85 to 90 wins (this may be generous to due wishfull thinking.... 75 to 80 wins? )
4. Oriaholes - 78 to 85 wins.
5. Devil Dogs - Maybe approaching .500
I'm already a 10TH Man Plan ticket holder (10 games/season), and I spent about 12 hours on 2 computers buying 3 Sox Pax with 2 tix each in early December, only to have the wheels come off the wagon one-by-one. That's a lot of expense and effort (I drive almost an hour, park at Quincy Adams take red to green to Kenmore), to go and see an also-ran. Nonetheless, out of the 23 games that I ended up with, I'm sure I'll go to at least half (I'll be FAR offshore for quite a few I'm sure).

I'd switch the Blue jays and Yankees around...I think they willl take the division this year. The yankees did absolutely nothing to improve their pitching staff this year...

Toronto must of found a money tree or a pot of gold in the off season. Now let's see how everything pans out.

Sox off season has been miserable. They are now going to get Crisp. He is ok but they are going to give up Martie, spelling, from the Atlanta trade. The guy they were so high on for the future. For Pete's sake they should have just kept Renteria. They are paying 12 mill. of his salary which is the difference of the Damon salary. They would have had Damon and Renteria. Is Crisp and who ever at short better than Damon and Rent. I don't think so. Also now have Lowell at third too, no future there. Very disapointing. P.

If the Sox get even half decent years from Foulke and Schilling
They should have a great pitching staff
