Air Up!

Going thru some old stuff, came across this crappy old B&W pic, but, it still gives me a chuckle... forget the puny fish, take note how the other fellow is airing up the tires in the buggy!!!!

Man would hate to have to do that. I am sure their were contests to see who didn't have to pump.

Hey Karl - I remember using a spark plug - hollowed and adapted to a hose to air up. It took the place of the bike pump. We could actually air up all four in about a hour from scratch. Scratch was 9 or 10 pounds, and we worried about spinning the tire and screwing up the tube. Always carried a spare tube along.

I often wonder why some guys didn't blow up with the gas in the tubes.

Will I see you on Saturday?

gasoline in the tires.....ooooo sounds like fun

now a days we have fix a flat...

but you have to read the dammed directions...still

i once fixed a flat and then found myself racing this guy on the free way at around 75 miles a hour....which makes the fix a flat air heat up

(your supposed to deflate it and re-air up afterwards) which i did not..

suddenly i exploded that tire.....with a huge kabooom and there was an 8 inch hole by 4 inches wide.

I believe that Karl

I'm probably the only one that had to jack up my car to change a flat with no jack handle for the jack.

The United States Constitution does not exist to grant you rights; those rights are inherent within you. Rather it exists to frame a limited government so that those natural rights can be exercised freely.

It's time more people spoke up with the truth. Every time we let a leftist lie go uncorrected, the commies get stronger.

yep

you wouldn't believe me if I told you
we were coming home one night from Boston, late around 1:00 AM after a little
drivers front tire on my MGB was flat, didn't even know it till I got on the highway and some guy pointed it out to me

had a jack but no handle so I used a screwdriver and my buddy lifted the car up a little at a time.It took a while. I was younger then and I once picked up my brothers honda civic(both tires) clean off the ground(one end anyway). That was back when I framed houses after I quit college. My back is in no kinda shape for that now.

Honest Injun Dave, I was just ridin' shotgun on that run.. almost 30 years later, I still got white knuckles
But yeah, that was one record run, not possible today, too much traffic, and lots and lots more Police.
All the crap I was involved with in cars, I'm damn lucky to be alive... never had an accident doing that stuff either, unbeliveable.... somebody watching over me, or something... still got a damn lead foot, but not like back then

That would make a great name for the new Forum.

Everybody would have at least 5 stories.
