Swim test report...

The small swimmer is "okay". I played around with the angle of the lip and got it to where the plus swimms with a pretty tight wiggle. I had been hoping for a tight wiggle when I reeled really slow, with the back of the plug makikng a small v wake in the water. Not there yet on that point. May be that the plug is too flat sided, or I need a bigger lip on it. Also will cut a slot closer to the front of the plug and try the lip there, see what happens.... My concern with that is that I'll get wobble, not wiggle....

The lipless one surprised me :-) It sits with its back just breaking the water's surface. Slighly nose down. When I bring it in at a slow pace, like I would a spook that I'm fishing slow, it darts, and glides quite erratically, flashing its side. Sometimes it will skip up and skitter across the water's surface, followed by a dive down and to the side. Retrieved slightly faster, it tends to dig a bit, but still darts and flashes erratically. Quite interesting.

Going to play with both shapes more....

Welcome to the Banana Club. Intriguing plug, isn't it? As for your swimmer, you might try dropping the nose screw eye just a little and angling it down. A little weight forward of the belly hook will also move the pivot point forward and give you the tail action you want (I think). If that doesn't work, I'd try moving the lip a little more forward. Good luck.

Yep. The action is unique, for sure. I'll try out your suggestinos on the swimmer, see what happens. I like the pivot point idea. Small split shot for starters.
