saturday night..
Fishing was once again great here on the East Bay not the stellar night I thought it would be but still good. I landed 4 keepers 34" 14lbs (pictured below) 32" 11lbs 28" and a 29" My father also got a nice 37" 19.6lb bass and a 32" bass. He was using dead chunks I was using live herring. So if you don’t have live..... fish fresh herring chunks! Since the keeping of herring is illegal tomorrow and I have none left in my live well I'll be plugging and take a break from bait! Anyone else head out to fish tonight?
Someone has to learn to get me and the WHOLE fish in the pictures!!!!

...Your Saturday night, was definately better than mine.....
...Started off by sight fishing to some Squid, not as many as expected, but enough....
...I had spoken with a friend who was at a local "Squid hot spot"...and he told me that there are families actually camping out, some from as far as New Jersey...just for some fresh squid. Are squid actually that big of a delicasy??...He spoke to this one gentleman who said he hadn't seen his family in a week. He had spent the last 6 days....Squid fishing!!...when my friend asked how he managed his days, he was told:
..."they have "portajohns" here...so I use them, when I get tired...I go to car and sleep for little while....then when I wake up...I come back and squid more...if I hungry...I go for eat something fast.."
...if he's there for six days, how does he keep the squid??...is he constantly buying ice?....is he actually storing squid in coolers for six days??.....
....I dunno.......but I stopped by there about 3:30 am this morning...and it was literally elbow to elbow!!...with not much squid being pulled over the side. Although the walls and grounds were filthy... I just hope squid season doesn't ruin it for others. As these people who specifically target squid, will only be here for that short time...and the regulars will end up suffering consequences.
...Thank God for the Rain!!!...

no keeper, but the rod is christened
went out last night..what a difference from yesterday afternoon, the wind stopped and the moon was bright. gb and i were at a local spot in westport last night, when i took a nice hit on a live herring with the new rod/reel combo i recieved courtesy of s-b. unfortunately i should have set the hook atleast one more time cause the bass which felt decent ran up on the marsh and got off . i did however end up with catching a 26" fish so atleast i did have something to show me i hadn't forgotten how to land a fish.
it feels nice to be back in the game again, and the rod is some nice!!!!!
thanks

Hey GB, I'll head up your way this week if your going fishing and I'll pay you for that GPS. Let me know. The only bad night for me is thursday. It's only about an hour drive for me so I can be over your way by 5:30-6:00 or later..........

A TICKET???.....more like a " Tow-Job".....
...The neighbors in that area have a habit of calling the police the minute they see head lights.....
...In the late 80's, that spot was pretty good...but after the "kids" showed up with their Kegs of beer and shooting off fireworks and burning peoples skiffs for fun.....the neighborhood put a stop to all outsiders. If you don't live on that street.......ring....ring.....straight to the police station...and of course, to make matters even better....one of the residents happens to be a cop....so they come quickly!!...
....Its a shame how we keep losing spots....if people would just be considerate enough to think of others, the world would be a happy place....
