Has anybody else not seen very many of these birds lately either?I have been all over Narragansett Bay, Wickford to Newport, have only seen a a dozen or so! their usual nesting sites are empty, and I am wondering what's up?upchunk.

I was thinking just the opposite.I've seen many more than usual here on the Sakonett river.

Its funny you say you've seen more on the Sakonnet- I've only seen a few in Narra. Bay. Since they generally feed on small bait it might be a sign that the silversides are absent as this is their main food source in the bay, but I've seen some silversides in the Sakonnet, but only one or two terns. Upchunk, are you a PETA member? You're asking the wrong bunch worrisome bird questions. Not that we don't love our feathered friends its just that most of the post here deal with beach access during plover nesting season.
