Question Forget-Me-Nots...

I'm sure we have all had that day when we forgot one of the most important things back at home, and had to resort to the extreme to make ends meet.

....Let me share my latest one with you. I was waiting for my father to drop off his truck so that I could use it to lug my livewell around the coastline. I started to prepare everything so that I would be ready to go as soon as he arrived. I placed everything neatly on the curb so that the exchange wouldn't last more than a "Hi dad.....Bye dad"..two minute drill. I leaned my rod on the fence, neatly tied the rope from the herring basket and placed it inside, slipped into my waders to save some time when I arrived at the run, grabbed a bucket to make the water exchange... folded my wading jacket (rain coat ) after putting a package of Gamaskzu livelining hooks in the pocket...along with a bag of sunflower seeds. I checked the screen on the livewell to make sure it was healthy. I checked the charge on my cellphone, grabbed my scale...just in case ...and one last trip to the "boys" room ..I even tied a hook on because he was taking too long.

..He finally shows up, and we make the exchange. I head straight to a D & Ds for a cup of coffee then grab the high way. While driving I grab a favorite cassette and start singing along..anticipating a good night of fishing after I grab some Herring.

.....ok, I finally arrive at the run...I grab the bucket and head down to a clean spot from which I'll be getting my water from. I make about 5 trips to fill the livewell and then I make sure its free of debris. Next I place the bucket in the bed of the truck and grab the net. THE NET!!!.... WHAT NET???!!!! ....I had forgotten to grab the net. I guess I was lucky that there weren't many people there to laugh at me as I chased herring around with a 5 gallon bucket...

Needless to say, it wasn't a very productive night!!...I did manage some herring though...along with getting pretty wet!!!

....two questions:

1. How many of you figured out it was the net, before you got to the bottom??

2. Whats your latest story about forgetting something major??...(and not your favorite plug either...something IMPORTANT!...

...it finally happened, there are no more secret spots

Tattoo - you can get herring legally in Mass on Mondays...

Bloo - I laughed extra hard 'cause when I went out Friday night, I forgot my net too. Fortunately for me, I remembered after 4 miles and went back to get it (one of the numerous screwups on my part causing me to be tardy )

I figured you had left the pole leaning against the fence!

One time we got all the way out to Monamoy only to find out I had only the spool to my fly reel. No frame. Doh! Good thing I had brought a spare regular rod. Turns out the fly guys did nothing all day and I got about 10 blues popping which is better than one skunk!

forgetabaudit

stoped at a baitshop in everett mass and parked right out front
my buddy brought in two new fin-nor reels to get spooled up
I grabed the bait and we went out to the truck. when we got to the spot we realized I had left the cooler with the bait in it on the curb in front of the shop and he had left his reels on top of it . they were never seen again !!!! (p.s. if I had found something like that in front of a bait shop I would have given it to the guy behind the counter and told him that I had found it out front .......PEOPLE SUCK!!

Went to the west wall on sunday and i was so excited to get out fishing i forgot all my tackle except for the little kit that came with the new rod i got from BJ's i wasn't too happy but i figured i was there i might as well use what i had ........ well i put on the little white tail grub and caught fish all day and i also caught a bunch today on the same grub so i guess sometimes it's a good thing when you forget gear.because i probably would not have used the little grub and not caught any fish or just a few.

so the moral of the story is? well i'm not sure but i am sure there is one somewere...............

A mans got to believe in something..so I believe i'll go fishing
