Five days in a row sight fishing bass in the surf zones of 2 local beaches, cruising up and down the beach past the third break in 5-8' of water 'round 2 pm everyday my top plug (when I'm not tossing a fly to shorties

) has been a white A/H needlefish.
This is the most "responsive" needle I've ever used. It can "walk the dog" like a musky jerkbait at whatever depth you let it sink to when retrieved w/short jerks of the rod tip and in-between pauses.
I just love to work this plug .
A 30" bass in 4' of gin-clear water on Saturday not 20 yards from swimmers just hovered and stared at my needle as I worked it right past her nose then slammed it as I sped-up the retrieve. After a quick run into some nearby boulders, I watched as the bass rubbed the hook out in a quick sweep againsed a rock. All this in clear, shallow water in front of an audience...(heard on the beach...)"Look! The guy in the kayak is gettin' pulled around by somethin!!! Look!"
Pilot error....
