Life is tough

When my wife and I got married, she had a strained relationship with her estranged father. He came to our wedding, with one of my wifes younger half sisters. The other sister, and her step mom refused to come. The step mom is the whole reason the relationship was strained. Well after the wedding, we took the halfsister who came to the wedding to Rocky Point Park. We had a great time, but my wife had a hard time hearing about how well her half sisters grew up. So because of all of this, my wife had written him a long angry letter, and the two have never spoken since. A few weeks ago my wife and daughter went to visit relatives in Colorado. During the trip, an aunt talked my wife into trying to have an adult relationship with her father, and to try to forget the past. Well my wife was looking forward to trying this out when she got back. Well we just found out that he has terminal Pancreatic Cancer, and his situation is day to day. One of her half sisters was trying to contact her, and finally got my brother inlaw. I guess the lesson is don't wait till tomorrow whatt you can do today, and life is too short not to let bygones be bygones.
