Very wet night in the surf

Joe P and I ventured into the mess out there tonight. Just got in. Nasty nasty night. We had to hunt a bit but we found fish and they all had stripes. Strange bite in that there were pods of Stipers then nothing. Then another pod. It was as if they were looking for bait but there was tons of bait all the while we were at one of the spots we hit. Small stuff, maybe silver sides or small sand eels. Definitely not peanut bunker. There are lots of fish around but it is a search mission. Not easy pickings.

No boat, back in the suds.

Water is wet.Fish don't mind.
Hunting em is all part of the fun.

Seemed like u would get a fish maybe a hit
then u had to move.
like 40 yds to catch the next few fish.

Tony:
You are right. I got spoiled by the boat. Hadn't been in the surf since July 5th.

No boat, back in the suds.

Paul,
probably in your neck of the woods last night as well

sounds like the same thing i went through last night

picked up fish on consectutive casts, then nothing for a while, then same thing again

overall, it was a good night to be out there

the fish i took was grubbing...nothing in the stomach except lobsters (2) and crabs (2)

Yup - like Paul said we got very wet with that NE wind driving rain right into our faces. Felt like an October night but just warmer.

Tons of bait in another spot - appears like its going to be a good Fall with all the bait around in different locations.
