If it is, it shattered the old Derby/state record of Don McGillvary, which was 19 and change

And it certainly looks official to me:

Or someone's spoofing their website.

The Derby opens in a little under two hours.

Not many (as in hardly any) Albies around yet, even at the Hooter where they usually show a week before they come inshore.

Wait till the other rumors start swirling around the island just as they do every year. This one started before the first weigh-in. It usually starts off about a guy and his wife on a charter out of an up-island harbor. He catches squat and she catches a 20 # albie and she is not in the derby, so she is not eligible for prizes. oh boo hoo. Good luck to everyone though. See ya on the 5th................

It must have been a test b/c they changed it, and there are other fish also weighed in. Last night I saw 25# and scratched my head.

I saw the entry early yesterday on the Derby site. I just discounted it as someone testing out the site before the start-up, and razzing someone at the same time.
The site has been put back into "service mode" now that the derby has started.
Hope to get there this year, even if it's just for a few days, - I love going to the Vineyard.
I'm (hopefully) in between jobs soon, and other things are taking up my free time.
